Photo History Worth Listening To

Recently, I have been delving into the development of photographic technology from its earliest days back in the 1830s to the present. I came across a photo history podcast which provides a remarkable insight to this fascinating imaging evolution.

‘History of Photography Podcast’ has as its ‘cover image’ the famed Migrant Mother by Dorothea Lange and, along the way, the series picks out many of the images that have made their special mark on the art form. The podcast is the work of Professor of Photography Jeff Curto. It invites you to listen-in to a full semester of photography history lectures as well as offering a series of shorter pieces focused on individual elements of significance. It all adds up to many hours of information delivered in fairly bite-sized packages.

For those with an interest in how photography has developed, it is a great resource worth every minute of your time. Head over to the website below for more information about Jeff Curto and the different ways to access his output.
